Isolated RS485 RS232 HAT is an isolated RS485 and RS232 expansion board specially designed by Waveshare for Raspberry Pi. It adopts SC16IS752+SP3485, SP3232 scheme, built-in power isolation, ADI magnetic coupling isolation and TVS and other protection circuits.

Il prodotto appare di ottima fattura e ha funzionato egregiamente in pochi minuti dopo l'installazione; i demo in C e Python forniti a corredo sono infatti sufficienti per renderne possibile l'uso molto rapidamente.Un unico problema l'ho rilevato per quanto riguarda la denominazione dei terminali A e B della porta RS485; infatti collegando il mio dispositivo RS485 alla morsettiera o al jumper (indicati in rosso nella foto) seguendo la denominazione serigrafata sulla schedina, la comunicazione non va a buon fine. Invece, invertendo le connessioni la comunicazione avviene regolarmente senza problemi. Questo è un problema piuttosto comune con i dispositivi RS485 per i quali non è sempre facile trovare accordo tra diversi produttori; secondo lo standard più diffuso, infatti, sul bus il terminale B dovrebbe corrispondere al positivo e il terminale A al negativo. Invertendoli tra loro non si ha nessun danno ma la comunicazione è impossibile in quanto il segnale ricevuto è complementare rispetto a quello atteso.Tutto sommato, comunque, sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
