the laser engraving is really sharp and nicely done. although it's plywood, on the engraved side that is less obvious.it's quite a thin piece of wood, but the artwork is lovely, and will make a lovely display.likewise the planchette.it has a cade oil like scent to it. neither unpleasant nor pleasant. sort of like a wood fire, which is obviously from the oils used to treat the wood.the set comes with instructions both to how to use it with the planchette or with a pendulum, and gives instructions for how to make a pendulum easily with household items if you don't already have one.I tend to use my pendulums freehand, rather than with a cloth or a board, as the responses I get are very specific to me, but I thought this would be a beautiful object decoratively, and it meets every expectation there. it's aesthetically lovely, and I think it's an absolute bargain at the price it's being sold for. a lovely item.

This is a cute little kit for scrying. I have pendulums, but I had no board, I was just making my own, so this make a cute, inexpensive, lightweight board to try. It’s very light wood. My only issue is that I wasn’t expecting to look sort of unfinished wood craft product. I almost feel like I need to paint it. It does come with a nice little booklet though, which was helpful. Altogether it’s easy to read.
