Firstly, this thing looks impressive—like if you bought it purely for the aesthetics, you’d be thrilled. It would look like Batman's lawnmower if there were no orange on it. Unfortunately, that's about as impressed as I got. Between the less-than-intuitive setup and the horrible northern weather in March, my frustration steadily grew until my wife told me to give up for the day (I could tell she was getting annoyed).I persevered the next day, only to find out that the positioning of the charging station has to be just so and, of course, in range of a power outlet. Still, I wasn’t about to be defeated by a lawnmower. Long story short, it works… eventually, but it’s not perfect. Here are a few negatives:• Random cutting patterns – It cuts in zigzags all over the place, so if you’re into neat lines, forget it.• The supplied battery is rubbish for a lawnmower that costs a grand.• It leaves about 10cm untouched up against the fence, so you’ll still need to go around the edges yourself.• The placement of the charging station is a pain, and for an extra 200 quid online, you can buy a little weatherproof garage for it.It’s not all bad news, though. This is a brilliant mower for someone who’s not as agile as they once were and finds it hard to maintain the garden. That’s precisely what I will do with mine—set it up for my elderly parents. They can’t manage the garden anymore, and when I’m around, I end up doing it for them. With this, it won’t be perfect, but it will keep the grass short. All I’ll have to do is turn up once in a while and do the edging. Here are a couple of suggestions for Worx, if they’re reading:1. Supply a bigger battery—for the price, it really should come with a more powerful one.2. I know it’s a big stretch, but a solar-powered garage would completely change my view on this lawnmower. You could place it anywhere in the garden if it could charge up without mains power. Just a thought.Overall, it has potential but needs some profound tweaks to justify the price tag.

This is for lawns up to 250 sq M. It weighs around 13 kg and comes with the smallest battery ever, just 2Ah.Mine was flat after around 1.5hrs of mowing a small 10 x 6ft sample area I set up for reviewing this mower. It should have been able to return to the base unit to auto recharge but for some reason it got itself trapped in one corner of the lawn and gave an E04 error. I didn't move it just told it to return to base for recharge and off it went. After a couple of hours cutting this small area I noticed that it doesn't do corners or close to the edge of the lawn very well and does not give a stripped lawn effect, in fact its coverage of the lawn seems to be totally random to my eye, it darts about with seemingly no logic to its direction of travel, oh and the cutting blades rotation seems also to be bi directional as it pleases. Remember also that it doesn't pick up the cut grass either. The manufacturers suggest you first cut your grass to the height you wish using your ordinary mower, then set this one to work just nibbling at any regrowth so there is little cut grass. That's as long as you put this one to work almost daily.Looking at the underside, the rotating blades are tiny and the disc they sit in is just around 180mm. They suggest the blades get changed every 2 months or so. You will notice the blades have 2 cutting edges each as they can rotate both directions. Cutting height is adjustable from 3-6cm.The mower cannot work in very low light or at night unless you purchase an add on lighting kit.My first attempts at mapping the lawn ready for cutting didn't go well. The mower once instructed would leave the base station do a 360 degree turn plus a bit then just stop. Seems undocumented that I could see, but support tell me you need then to press OK once more and off it will go.Getting to chat with a real person in support was quite hard, but once you do manage to get through to them they are quick to reply via email though. This comes with a 2yr warranty. Don't forget to register for your free 3rd year of warranty and setting up an account at Worx gives you info on your mower's firmware and lots more.Trying to give your mower serial number to Worx automated service will error as although its printed on the battery lid as 4 digits for the year then a space before 303----- for the serial, you actually need to remove the space to get the serial accepted. My conclusions. Its a lot of money at £999.99 at review time to mow a lawn, for that you don't even get stripes or grass pick up, or edges and corners done and I would think for 250 sq M you will need to have it running every day in the UK growing season plus you will still be out there doing the edges and corners with the strimmer.I think I will stick with my battery push mower that I control, it cuts to corners and edges, collects the grass cuttings, gives a stripe effect and can be done in under an hour a week for just 1 battery charge.

This Worx Landroid mower is in my opinion, designed for the immaculate lawn, certainly not for my uneven borderless lawn with weeds and moss, it obsoletely hates my lawn and refuses to mow it without wondering into the flowerbeds. So, I took it to my dads who has an amazing lawn, perfectly flat, borders where the flowerbeds are well divined and the grass has been beautifully looked after, a total contrast to my own lawn, I think he's ashamed of me and my lawn.On his lawn, the landroid was at home, it mapped the whole lawn perfectly and then spent a good hour going back and forth just taking the tips off the grass. Really impressive to watch wit a cup of tea and a few biscuits. So in a few weeks time I will be taking up my weed invested lawn and replace it with something the landroid will like and I must admit that I am actually exited about it.

When I first unboxed the WORX mower, I was genuinely excited – it looked like a mini Transformer, and I adore Transformers. I had high expectations, imagining an all-terrain, efficient machine to manage my vast, complex garden. However, after some initial trials, I realised there were significant limitations, which, in hindsight, the marketing and design cleverly concealed.First, let’s talk about the setup. I downloaded the app, but struggled to scan the serial number with the QR code. After some patience, we got it plugged in indoors. The weather in Somerset has been relentlessly rainy, and the ground is waterlogged, so we had to wait a few days before trying the mower out. I had grand plans of simply mapping out my large garden and releasing Optimus Prime Jr. to do its work while I relaxed. But reality set in. The lawn mower struggled with the complex terrain, and I had to physically move it between the different areas. One of the most surprising aspects was the design of the blades. They resemble delicate shaving blades rather than sturdy lawnmower blades. The cutting was gentle, often only clipping the top growth. For a mower that costs £1000, I expected a more robust performance. The battery life was another issue. Despite being fully charged, the mower only ran for about 17-18 minutes, which is far from the efficiency I was expecting. When I realised that replacing the battery would cost over £80, I began to wonder if this robot lawn mower was really built to handle the demands of a large, varied garden.Additionally, the mower struggled to navigate around flower beds and shrubs, often heading straight into the bushes if there wasn’t a defined border. The required magnetic tape to set boundaries was not only expensive but also didn’t offer the convenience I had hoped for in a “self-reliant” robot. In conclusion, while the marketing for this product was exceptional and the design appealing, the reality was far from the all-terrain powerhouse I had imagined. The WORX WR202E is more suited to a smaller, flat garden, like my mother’s, where it can operate with minimal supervision. For my large, diverse garden, however, it simply didn’t live up to expectations.
