I had issues using this in my Vauxhall Astra, but in my friends Audi A3, it connected without an issue, so I've rated this down as 4/5 because of the compatibility issue. Throughout the drive, the CarPlay stayed connected and music was uninterrupted, so I would recommend it; just be wary of the compatibility for your car / device you're using.

I snagged this carplay to ditch the cable mess in my 2018 VW Golf, and it’s been a pretty sweet upgrade. It’s a tiny dongle that plugs into the USB port (comes with both USB-C and USB-A options) and turns my wired carplay into wireless. It’s true to its plug and play promise, compatible with my iPhone 12 on iOS 16 and cars from 2015 onward. The 5.8GHz WiFi keeps the connection smooth for maps, music, and calls. Pairing took a minute or two the first time; I plugged it into the car’s USB, turned on Bluetooth and WiFi on my phone, and after a little wait, it popped up on the screen to connect. Now it’s a hands-free vibe every drive.

Völlig ausreichend für Apple Car Play.Nutze den Dongle in meinem Astra K Bj. 2015.Reibungslose Nutzung. Hat alles auf Anhieb geklappt mit der Bluetooth Verbindung.

The initial setup was a doddle - just plug it in and sort out the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection. Dead easy, really.I love how it connects automatically when I jump in the car. It's been brilliant when I'm wrestling with getting the kids strapped into their car seats - one less thing to faff about with. The design's quite neat too - fits right in with my car's interior without any messy cables cluttering things up.Mind you, it's not all sunshine and roses. The connection gets a bit temperamental when someone else tries to link their mobile to it. I find myself mucking about in the settings to get it sorted, which does my head in, if I'm honest. While most features work a treat, the sat nav can be a bit sluggish sometimes. As a mum who's always running about, I really need quick access to my tunes and directions.So while this gadget gets some things spot on, it could do with a bit of fine-tuning to make it properly reliable. It's not quite the perfect solution I was hoping for, but it's still better than messing about with cables every time I get in the car.
