1/20/25 UpdateBumping review from 3 stars to 4 or 4.5 since both Xicoolee and Seengreat are actually standing behind the product. Xicoolee has offered a refund on the 2 displays due to the issues listed below. I don't intend to get a refund as the displays are usable and while they are slightly flawed I see no reason for a company not to be able to make money on things they sell/produce. The willingness to make good on the product is enough for me. As to Seengreat, they have responded with a tech drawing of the LCD display that is very helpful since it lays out ALL the dimensions of the LCD display. I've asked for a little more information since the tech drawing is for the display only and that doesn't tell me where things are in relation to the PCB and/or holes on the board which would help with alignment of holes, etc for the case but again, they are willing to help and I find that rare with many of the products here on Amazon so kudos to both companies.Original review from 1/17/25 (Amazon takes a while to actually post review so there's delays)Headline: Some manufacturing flaws and little to no usable information to allow 3D printing a case. . .I've been looking at various LCD screens for a set of NTP clocks I'm building for friends and family and came across these due to two things. . . price and IPS. I tried making the clocks using the larger CYD (Cheap Yellow Display) boards with the 2.8 inch display but the visibility drops off seriously when viewed from an angle. Something you don't want with a clock hence the need for IPS. Anyway, ordered a couple of these and while they work they have some issues. One of the two has a flaw in the screen as shown in the first photo. Both boards have the issue shown in the second photo. The LCD is not parallel to the PCB so there is going to be a gap on one side of the case that I install these in. Which brings up another problem. I found dimensions for the board length and width (60mm x 37mm with holes 2.5mm in from the edges) but that's useless if they don't tell you the dimensions of where the actual LCD display is on the PCB AND where the active area of the screen is. I have techniques that I think will allow me to address this but it would really be nice if this was provided up front so that making cases for these were easier. I reached out to Seengreat (actual mfg of the boards) and got an automated Email response that my ticket (#11) had been created. #11? Really? Are the boards that new or do they have so few issues they've only had 10 other issues reported? Other than the issues I've listed above the displays do work and are visible from a wider angle due to being IPS so there's that.

Used this with an ESP32 project to provide a status display. It works perfectly, good update speed and nice bright colors. Software support is easy, there are plenty of libraries and coding examples available for the ST7789V controller chip.

The display itself is good and does what it should do. It is at the moment not usable as framebuffer device for the Raspberries, since the drivers mirror the display hardcoded in the driver. Emailing the support at the website does not lead to any reply. There is example code in c, python and some more, but no further documentation, ie backlight on/off.At the moment, the display is not usable as framebuffer device to show any x-server or console parts on it. It can only be used to have an application that draws something. The demo code is also not really useful, since it just covers a few drawings with circles, lines and a background picture. Not enough if you are planning to use this device in a more complex project or scenario.Display brightness and quality are ok.

This is a nice size LCD screen for use with micro-controller DIY projects. Coding examples and videos can be found easily on the Internet. The price for it is good as well. I like it.
