This was purchased for our 11 year son who plays club hockey around the Great Lakes. He absolutely loves it and has been doing competitions with his friends to see who has the fastest shot. Great for outdoor or garage play and especially great if you have a very competitive child!

The Xtreme Hockey Radar by Better Hockey is pretty cool.Most kids at one time or another wonder or assume how fast their shot, throw, kick, etc. is. Well this is the answer to that.Build quality is decent and while it can be inconsistent sometimes with detection, it still provides great feedback and a useful tool for the user, and others nearby. It may seem expensive for what it is, but I’m sure it’s much cheaper than a police radar or street mounted speed radar. Of course those will be more consistent and accurate, I think this device has good value for someone serious with their performance.

I have always wanted a device to measure the speed of a baseball or a puck, but the price seemed always very high. I saw this portable speed radar at a very reasonable price and wanted to try it.The portable speed radar arrived very well packaged in a giftable box. It comes with the main unit, a stand with hardware, a hex key, a USB charging cable, and instructions.This is very easy to use. You press the button on the back to turn it on, and then you can select speed in km or miles per hour. You place the speed radar behind the net or backstop, and when it senses a ball or puck, it shows the speed for 5 seconds in a very large and bright display.I had access to a Stalker radar gun which is the gold standard for radar guns used by professional teams and police, and I checked the measured speeds. This was consistently within 1 or 2 km/hour and most of the time showed the same measurement as these $1000+ radar guns.Having a speed-measuring device is a lot of fun. Seems everyone wants to see how fast they can throw a ball or shoot a puck.You could even create a game like the carnival game where you either see who can throw the fastest or have someone throw a ball and then they have to guess how fast they throw the second time. The closest to their guess wins.I am very happy with this speed radar device. It seems very accurate and the price is amazing.I do recommend this.
