It can read and write my external HDDs and SSDs, it can read optical discs (and can play DVDs & Blu-rays if you have some software), and it can burn Blu-ray and DVD discs (although as of now I've only written 1 of each). It does everything I wanted it to do and more.I haven't tried the USB port or fast charging features, and I haven't paid much attention to the read/write speeds, but they are fast enough for me.The player has a nice weight - it's heavy but not too heavy, and I really like the mostly metal exterior. I will say that the build quality seems dubious, especially with the cables that come with the product, but this doesn't bother me too much.Was it worth the money for me? Mostly.

Easy to use. The best thing is the weight. It's nice and heavy and doesn't have to be held every time you press the eject button unlike the thin ones out today which go sliding across the desk. Very quiet and a beautiful picture. Excellent build quality and finish. Good value for money. Would recommend this one.

Despite the high price this is a premium drive offering excellent speeds within a solid construction. As I see it there are 3 reasons why people might still use an optical drive:1. For watching blu-ray films: this doesn't seem to have been the purpose otherwise why wouldn't they have included the necessary software. If this is what you want, you might be annoyed with this decision.2. For data storage. It serves this purpose well with excellent speed and quality.3. For software installation and DRM. This is my main interest. I was fed up with being asked to insert a disk and then finding my reader wasn't recognised by Windows. It seemed to be very hit and miss - more often miss. This one solves that problem.Overall a good product, so long as it serves your purpose.
