It took some staring at it to figure out how the coiled cord would attach to the lock, so I hope the picture will help. Slide the metal/ball end into the slot, then loop the cord through whatever you're trying to protect (wheel, helmet, whatever). Then put the other end of the cord (the end with the loop) into the slot, then put the lock where it will sit while you're away from the bike,and arm the lock. Note that the slightest movement after it is armed will sound the ear-piercing alert sound, but you can immediately disable it with the key. You can set it anywhere, including on the ground, as it's movement after arming that sets it off. I feel it's a supplemental device and not your primary lock as it can be easily cut off, which will set off the alarm, but a would-be thief could then speed off with your bike. So unless you're going to be very close by and ready to jump when you hear the alarm, I'd use a 2nd "real" lock.

Das Bremsscheibenschloss von ZEXMTE - hier in der "gelben" Version - kommt in einem unscheinbaren Karton und liegt dort mit sämtlichem Zubehör noch mit einer (wiederverwendbaren) Tüte geschützt. Das Gewicht ist gemessen an der sehr massiven Optik noch recht gering (260 Gramm für das Schloss ohne Kette). Die Farbe ist auffällig und sollte sowohl "Interessenten" als auch dem rechtmäßigen Besitzer auffallen. Als (wenig dezente) Erinnerung kann eine orange Schlaufe als Erinnerung an den Lenker gehangen werden, die in der Aufnahme für die Bremsscheibe mit eingeklemmt werden kann und mit einem Spiralband aus Kunststoff verbunden ist. Eine sehr clevere Idee für vergessliche oder hektische Zeitgenossen. Ebenso clever ist der mit einer Gummilasche abgedichtete USB-Ladeport. Ob es des vollflächigen Aufklebers bedurft hätte, ist Geschmackssache. Top dagegen die Anleitung.Das Schloss selbst wirkt robust, massiv und haltbar. Das Schloss aktiviert bzw. deaktiviert man mit einem normalen Schlüssel, der so groß ist wie einer für ein Fahrradschloss oder für das Zündschloss eines Motorrads/Rollers. Er passt problemlos mit an ein Schlüsselbund. Es gibt auch eine Möglichkeit, das Schloss ohne den elektronischen Alarm zu verwenden (sehr gut!). Der Alarm hat es in sich und ist keinesfalls eine Spielerei, sondern dürfte auch in lauteren Umgebungen deutlich wahrgenommen werden.Dabei funktioniert der Alarm wie beschrieben, also ein kurzer Ton zur Bestätigung des Verriegelns und drei kurze Töne als Bestätigung, dass der Alarm an ist (spätestens jetzt ist man der Mittelpunkt der Aufmerksamkeit). Bei der ersten Bewegung gibt es wieder drei Töne als Warnung; ignoriert man die Warnung wird es laut, solange bis das Schloss aufgeschlossen wird. In einer ruhigen Wohngegend sollte sich nachts keine Katze an dem Schloss stupsen (auch um der Katze willen). Oder man verzichtet auf den Alarm.Das Schloss macht einen guten Eindruck, es funktioniert sehr gut und ist zudem noch günstig. Es ist zudem nur wenig größer als ein herkömmliches Bremsscheibenschloss und kann so problemlos mitgeführt werden.

So I used this as a deterrent while traveling abroad on my pelican case while I was out of the room. I bought cable that I looped through this and around something like a metal bed frame and through the handles of the case and this. The idea: If someone wanted to cut the cable and steel the case or try to force the case open, they would have to mess with this thing, which would start making a racket and draw attention. Wouldn't really keep then from cutting the cable, but it would deter them. Worked well.Only thing I didn't like was that it beeped (incredibly loud) when you first locked it. But I guess that's how you knew it was armed.

I recently started riding a motorcycle for the first time in my life. However, I did not feel comfortable leaving my motorcycle in public parking lots until I got this lock. Is it the most secure thing ever? Probably not. The stretchy cable is mostly useless. I honestly don't even know what it's for. I assumed it was to lock the steering or brake lever, but it doesn't really do that. As for the alarm itself, it is not very sensitive to initial motion, so would-be thieves can definitely move it around for a few seconds before it starts beeping. This is a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it gives them that much time to steal the bike. On the other, it's highly unlikely for this thing to give false alarms, which can be somewhat important in certain public settings. Overall, I'm fine with how it works. The alarm sound is definitely loud enough to alert nearby people of a theft in progress. The locking mechanism seems reasonably strong and secure. Again, I wouldn't expect it to deter a particularly determined or skilled thief, but it should definitely mitigate low-effort heists.I really like the cool designs on these as well. It sounds like a silly little thing, but motorcyclists often go to great lengths to get bikes looking the way they like, so having the disc lock be another cool accessory is definitely fun.
