I have a number of ball heads that came with travel tripods, and they work well enough but there's a bit of backlash when you tighten down the head. That's not a problem when you're using wide angle lenses, but when you're setting up a telephoto shot, it can affect your composition.This ball hit is just a bit beefier than my regular ones. But it's also a little bit stiffer even when you open up the ball locking mechanism all the way. I'm not thrilled about that, but it's not a deal-breaker either. It makes it a little harder to get the exact composition I want easily so I don't know if this is something I would order again if I had the chance.

This is a very well constructed ball head for any tripod. The construction is of very good quality, and the dials are solid and move fluidly.Overall, if you need a replacement ball head, or want an extra one, I would recommend this. It also holds the weight of my heavy telephoto lens extremely well. I normally use my gimbal, but when I'm running a couple of cameras, it's nice to have spare ball heads. I am very impressed with this.
