I purchased this past December and have been wearing it for re-learning my double jumps at 50. I smashed my hip pretty bad working on my jumps in November and decided to try one. It is amazing! Why more figure skaters don't wear these for training I'm not sure but it's great :) I am not longer worried about falling.

Bon, en même temps comment avoir quelque chose de beau si on veut de la protection? Je trouve que ce produit est conforme à son utilité. Mais oserais-je le porter lorsque nous serons en groupe? Il faudrait que je ne sois pas regardante. Mais il a l'air de protéger efficacement. Je le saurais lors de ma prochaine gamelle sur l'asphalte.

These shorts are amazing. Just what I need for cushioning while I try to learn how to figure skate. I am taking up this sport in my 50s and I have osteoporosis so fear of falling is holding me back. But having this extra padding is making a huge difference at least they will soften the fall. Although I haven't fallen hard on the ice yet, I did a purposeful fall and the padding is rigid enough to cushion the fall but not too rigid that they are uncomfortable and I don't really notice them under my skating pants. They are well made and the quality seems excellent. You can also take the padding out to wash the lycra shorts which is great. I plan to wear these shorts as protection when I walk/run when in icy conditions as well. I think these shorts would even work for seniors who are frail-just to help cushion a fall.

I bought the Adult X-small/small. My waist is 28", my hips are 35", and where they hit on my thigh is about 17.5". These fit, but some specifics: For me, worn over leggings, this size is a little tight, especially in the waist (I tend to be quite sensitive about waistbands). They were out of the next size up, so I will keep these. I might try to relax the waistband using the steam-iron technique, but it's not absolutely necessary. The spandex shorts material does have good stretch - again, on me they are definitely stretched, but they still have some give and they make me look as good as can be expected with such bulky padding. I am pleased that the pads are pretty well hidden by an oversized sweater or a typical winter coat. I will feel much safer going ice skating! This was also a fabulous deal in terms of cost. Thank you to the seller!
