This thing makes some great, smooth, diffused light. Seems pretty durable and the extra material that you push down on to assemble it is a nice touch. Most would use this for continuous lighting, but I used it for some flash photography and really liked the results. It does seem to cut the power of the light output quite a bit though (I was using a 600 w/s strobe). All that said, it would always be nicer if it’s less expensive but it really is a beautiful diffuser.I would suggest this purchase to anyone that’s serious about good light.

It takes 45s to install on my light! I keep it in its bag. When I am ready to do video I install it. The light diffusion is really good and gives a very professional look in my small office that transforms in a studio in 1 min! Love it!

Of course, this light dome will only be as good as the light source you attach it to. I had it attached to a Godox SL60W and was able to use it as my only light source for an interview. The Godox device itself was set to only 15% brightness but this dome took that light and filled the whole room with it! Such a great accessory to have. If you have the physical space for it, I'd suggest buying the larger of the two sizes available.

Other reviewers have said it can be tricky to build this thing, and it does require a bit of care. But once you do, it's amazing! The light it produces is really gorgeous, and it's light enough that it doesn't weigh-down my light and my stand. I do wish it was about $25 less than it is, but it comes in a nice nylon case, which helps soften the sting a little.Still, my main concern was ease of setup - I don't want to be sitting there dinking with putting together a softbox while my client watches, and this is so fast and easy, I'll never have to worry about that. Great product!
