I bought this mortar & pestle for grinding both herbs and spices. I use this to grind whole peppercorn that was stuck in a broken plastic grinder. I'll never buy one of those again now that I have my mortar & pestle. It is the perfect size, extremely sturdy, and performs beautifully! The mat that came with it is perfect for keeping the mortar and pestle in place while in use.

Nothing to dislike with this product. This is the perfect size for making a small amount of guacamole. For just wife and I, we use a single avocado (could easily handle 2) as an occasional snack before dinner. It's the perfect size for a small batch. Our big one that was bought in Mexico is massive, weighs a ton and isn't something that you'd want to leave out when not it use. This little guy actually adds some charm sitting on the countertop.

Purchased as a gift for a friend who loves to cook. It comes with a spoon, a basting brush, and a silicone pad to keep it from slipping while in use. The mortar and pestle themselves are attractive, sturdy, and solid enough to do a really good job. I highly recommend.
