These KVM switches have near lossless video streaming performance at 1920x1080 with 60 FPS output on HDMI 1.3 ports while having added flexibility of plugging in basic USB 1.1 devices for keyboard & mouse operation over Gigabit Ethernet. It's plug and play as I only needed to hook up cables with no manual setup or drivers required on Windows or Linux. Its a wired transmitter with RX/TX ends that is best geared towards long Ethernet cable runs topping out at 160ft of peak distance to get video and keyboard/mouse controls on display panels and projector systems in home theaters where it would be impractical to plug into a PC directly except audio.// VideoImage quality is excellent managing to handle 1080p streams without artifact, frame drops or noticeable compression with lossless quality at 4:2:0 color depth modes. Latency between frames is near real-time transmission or perceptually about 5 to 7ms higher which is quite usable for office tasks like browsing, productivity or streaming video. On its default settings, this switch automatically configures EDID for external displays in 720p mode but can be adjusted to higher screen resolutions up to 1080p. One big caveat is the TX/RX kvm system seems to only support sending display frame buffer without HDMI Audio meaning it can only handle screen without speakers.// Ethernet CompatibilityKVM switch can be finicky on lower bandwidth Cat.5E cables but do operate flawlessly on twisted pair Ethernet Cable with Cat 6 or better reliability for stable transmission speeds of full Gigabit 1000 Mbit/s link but doesn't come with one making setup more difficult. Also the RJ45 ports don't use embedded signaling LEDs for yellow/green to indicate speed but two small LED indicators for PWR/CONNECTION status.Switch is plug & play simple as I didn't have to configure anything aside from plugging in a few cables. The transmitter (TX) end requires connecting USB Type C to Type A cable and HDMI 1.3 supporting 1080p resolutions along with pass-through video HDMI output. On receiver (RX) side of KVM switch there are two USB 1.1 basic ports for only wired keyboard and mouse, along with Ethernet jack and HDMI output to display.I was able to run this video transceiver system over 3ft and 25ft patch cords without any issues having stable video and data transmission. KVM transmitters do get slightly hot but are passively cooled by its solid aluminum chassis in a compact 3" by 1.75" form factor.Something important to note is this KVM setup does not include any RJ45 or HDMI cables which are required to operate TX/RX 1:1 video, keyboard and mouse over Ethernet switch and does make setup process cumbersome by having to figure out compatibility of CAT. 6 or better cables since I had frame drops in Cat 5E.// PowerSince it doesn't inject PoE into ethernet cables, the RX receiver needs to be constantly plugged into DC barrel jack power. Its included adapter is not certified for UL/ETL listed conformity and important consideration when using this electrical device.Power adapter has output of 5 volts at 1 amp which may be limiting for USB hub powered devices like USB 2.0 backwards compatible trackballs, optical mice, wireless receivers or mechanical keyboards that require greater power consumption over USB for RGB lighting effects. These types of devices simply won't work on its limited USB 1.1 ports.Overall these KVM over Ethernet modules are simple with no manual configuration required and video quality at 1080p 60 FPS resolution is stellar when using a compatible high bandwidth Cat 6 Ethernet cable but doesn't come with it.

I tried using this to connect my girlfriend's computer to a TV in the living room. I got everything hooked up and working but I quickly realized that this kvm extender downgrades the display resolution significantly. It even downgrades the display resolution on the HDMI pass-through to the monitor that is right next to my computer. This is a huge problem for me because my girlfriend went to the trouble of getting a really nice 4K monitor but if she uses this KVM extender, she will never get the full 4K resolution, even from the monitor right next to her PC. For that reason, I will not use this KVM extender as planned because it takes a huge hit to the display resolution. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it was just unable to transmit 4K video through ethernet and could pass the 4K signal through to the PC monitor but this device will downgrade the resolution of anything attached to it.That being said, it does work if you just need 1080p resolution. I ended up using this to transmit my PC display to a TV in my garage which is 1080p and it works well for that. It works for certain situations but the limited display resolution is a big limitation of this product. It is priced accordingly compared to the 4K capable KVM over ethernet extenders but it comes with a limit on the maximum resolution you can use.Overall, this is an OK KVM over ethernet extender if you only need 1080p resolution. If you have a 4K monitor connected to this device, it will downgrade the resolution to 1080p. It is cheaper than 4K capable devices but its a trade off. It works well for what it is but didn't work for me since I am using a 4K monitor. Check your display resolution before ordering.

I've incorporated this extender into my home office arrangement, and it has proven to be a worthwhile investment. It effectively extends HDMI and USB signals over long distances, offering flexibility in configuring my workstation. The support for HD 1080P resolution guarantees sharp video quality. Additionally, the loop-out and POC features contribute to its convenience and versatility.

For months, now, I've been looking for a way to use my PC remotely with the least amount of latency! For a little while I used Parsec. It's about as good as you get as far as wireless remote desktop services, and it's one of the only plug-and-play solutions that will utilize LAN/WLAN to work as a remote desktop. I wanted something that I could use to have my computer run on a screen in my bedroom, or my living room. Usually you'd just use a long HDMI cable, but I needed audio and USB data communication for a keyboard and mouse.I hooked this up to a 50ft ethernet cable and ran it into my bedroom. I don't mind wires, so long as there is a noticeable advantage over wireless remote desktops. Let me tell you, though, there is a HUGE difference. It's like your computer is 5 feet from your screen. I hooked this up to a monitor in my bedroom and spent the night playing video games, just dumbfounded at how cool this was. There was some artifacts here and there, but the signal was being transmitted on a 50ft cable. The only issue with this is, as far as I know, you can't run the transmitter into your ethernet switch/router and hook the receiver up to another port. The network noise seems to keep the receiver and transmitter from talking to each other, although there may be a way to make this work.If this technology can be refined, there are a lot of different possibilities. You could set your PC in your closet, near your router, maybe, and run a KVM over ethernet system to multiple different monitors in your home, allowing you to do anything on your office computer, or play anywhere on your Xbox/PS5.I think the only thing keeping this from being practical, though, is that there are only two USB ports. That's fine for a keyboard and mouse, but I find myself needing to plug in lots of different things at once. The other problem is that the video transfer is capped at 1080P, at 60fps. I'm unsure as to how much you can cram into a single ethernet cable, but until USB-C is widespread enough to be routed through new construction homes, this might just be your best bet for remote desktop solutions, at least in your home.I know there are commercial solutions that have massive powerhouses that multiple people use at one time, but that requires a ton of specialized, expensive equipment. For residential and hobbyist purposes, this will be perfect.I'm thoroughly impressed with how plug-and-play ready this is, and I'm excited to use it more.
