Bigger than I expected. Amazing range and great image quality.Selling my Pana 100-400mm and keeping this one.

Ich habe im Rahmen der aktuellen Rabattaktion bei Amazon 2150€ bezahlt, was das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nochmal deutlich zu Gunsten des Objektivs verschiebt. AF und Stabi arbeiten im Rahmen der technischen Möglichkeiten an einer OM-1 einwandfrei. Die Krititk an der Schärfe bei vollem Tele kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. In einer Arbeitsdistanz zwischen 100-200 Meter sind die Aufnahmen gestochen scharf, natürlich spielt bei größeren Distanzen Faktoren wie Zustand der Luft, Lichtverhältnisse etc. eine zunehmende Rolle, was aber man aber nicht dem Objektiv anlasten kann. Den positiven Eindruck bezüglich der anderen Eigenschaften, die hier von einigen Käufern beschrieben werden, kann ich ansonsten nur bestätigen.

Nessun dubbio sulla qualità degli obiettivi Zuiko, sempre performanti. Anche se non della serie PRO, ha nitidezza e definizione. Perde un qualcosina alla massima focale con luce un po’ più bassa, alzando di molto gli iso. Consegna impeccabile da parte di Amazon. Unico neo, mi chiedo come in un obiettivo che ha un costo simile, si possa mettere una cinghia anonima Made in China. E mi chiedo se invece non sia stata sostituita!!

In System ist sehr gut

Ich habe mich stark von dem Preis und dem leider MFT untypisch hohem Gewicht abschrecken lassen. Aber einmal ausprobiert ist es schon ein wahnsinnig tolles Objektiv.

UPDATE 10.04.2024Auch andere User sind mit der Schärfe nicht zufrieden. Dieses Objektiv ist bei 400mm deutlich unschärfer als das OMDS 100-400mm Tele.Ich konnte das Objektiv 5 Tage intensiv ausprobieren. Leider muss ich sagen, dass f6,3 am Teleende absolut untauglich sind. Solange die Sonne knallt, ist alles gut. Aber auch nur der Hauch von Dämmerung oder ein Schlechtwetter-Tag führen schnell zu ISO 3200 und mehr. Und dann rauschen MFT-Kameras nicht nur kräftig, sondern es gehen auch Details verloren.Generell ist das Objektiv eher unscharf.Beim Bokeh habe ich auch schon Besseres gesehen.Das Objektiv ist übrigens eine Adaption des entsprechenden Vollformat-Objektivs von Sigma. Also für MFT unnötig groß - und unverschämterweise mehr 1000€ bei OMDS.

However, if you are new to using lenses, I hope I can share some wisdom in this review. I have just taken up wildlife and landscape photography as a hobby (previously, I had been a “point and shoot” type on holidays and casual use) so I recently purchased the OM-5 camera, and have now ventured into purchasing additional lenses. This OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm F5.0-6.3 lens is the first lens I opted for having compared other OM SYSTEM lenses, and lenses from rival companies. Having spent time testing this lens, here's an in-depth review covering its performance, features, and overall value.Build and Design.The first thing that stands out about the OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm F5.0-6.3 is its robust construction. While it’s not the smallest or lightest super-telephoto lens available through Amazon, it is surprisingly compact given its impressive 150-600mm zoom range. Weighing in at 1.3 kg, it balances portability and solid construction. It feels solid in hand but isn’t too unwieldy for extended handheld shooting when out and about.The lens is designed with a metal lens mount and sealed against dust and moisture, making it an excellent choice for outdoor photography. I have been using it for a couple of weeks in November including in freezing conditions and slight drizzle, and it has coped well with the weather. Despite its long focal length, the lens is not excessively long when retracted, making it easier to pack into my camera bag.Optical Performance.In terms of optical quality, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm impresses with its sharpness and clarity. At the longer end of the zoom range, which is where many telephoto lenses start to show signs of softness, this lens holds its own. Images are consistently sharp, even at 600mm, with minimal chromatic aberration or noticeable colour fringing. Contrast is generally excellent, and even fine details in distant subjects come through clearly.One thing to note is that, while this lens does an admirable job controlling optical issues, there can be slight softness at the edges of the frame at 600mm, particularly when shooting wide open. Stopping down to f/8 or f/11 does improve corner sharpness, so when I am taking landscape photos, I tend to prefer those settings.Autofocus and Image StabilizationThe autofocus (AF) system on the M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm F5.0-6.3 is fast, accurate, and relatively quiet, making it a solid choice for both stills and video. The lens features a linear motor-driven focus mechanism, which contributes to smooth and precise focusing. In practice, I found it to perform well in both good lighting and lower-light conditions, quickly locking focus on moving subjects, making it a great option for wildlife shots.The lens also comes equipped with OM SYSTEM's in-body image stabilization (IBIS), which works in tandem with the lens’s optical stabilization system to provide up to 7 stops of shake reduction. In practice, this means you can handhold the lens at slower shutter speeds than you might expect (although, I prefer to use a tripod), which is especially useful when working at long focal lengths like 600mm.Handling and Usability.When it comes to handling, the OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm feels well-balanced, even on smaller mirrorless bodies like my OM-5. The ability to shoot at 150mm allows for general telephoto photography, but the 600mm end provides ample reach for wildlife and bird photography. The flexibility to zoom in and out without changing lenses is a significant advantage, particularly when working in fast-moving environments or areas where lens swaps may be impractical, which was one of the main factors in my decision to buy this as my first lens. The two photos of the robin were taken in my garden and both on a 240mm focal length, 5.7f aperture, and 1/2000 second speed shutter. The difference between the two is that the photo with the robin on the coconut feeder is ISO 4000, whereas the robin on the seed feeder is ISO 6400.Conclusion.The OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm F5.0-6.3 is a competent telephoto lens that punches above its weight in terms of optical performance, build quality and usability. Bij ontvangst bleek dat het apparaat een beperkte garantie bood, bij andere fotograftiezaken wordt 5 jaar garantie geboden. Ik heb de lens dus teruggestuurd.

This would be a hefty lens for a full frame camera, so for an Olympus Micro Four Thirds it is a lens with a camera body hanging off the back.I have used it mostly with my E-M5 mk2 on a monopod to support the weight rather than for stabilisation.I have also used it with & without the 1.4X Tele converter.The stabilisation works well and it delivers good results for everything I have shot with it so far.I have ordered an MC20 Tele converter which will give 2400mm equivalent at the long end, which will be interesting.My home in the UK is by the sea, so I am looking to take photos of boats, ships and wildlife.It is much, much smaller than the equivalent full-frame focal length lens. For that I would say that it is decent value.

Impresionante estabilización. Tirando a pulso a 600 mm, foto nítida a 1/8 de segundo y a 150 mm foto nítida 1/2 de segundo. Impresionante.

Da es eigentlich ja das bekannte Sigma-Objektiv ist, das für andere Kameras nicht mal die Hälfte kostet, ist der Preis schon ganz schön happig.Aber: Wirklich vergleichbare Objektive anderer Hersteller liegen schnell mal im fünfstelligen Bereich.Und wenn ich aber hier solchen Unsinn wie "6,3 am Teleende geht nicht "lese, von Leuten, die angeblich fünf Tage intensiv getestet haben, dann denk ich schon, die Trauben sind sauer weil sie zu hoch hängen.Das Objektiv entspricht mit 600mm an MFT einem 1200mm Objektiv an Vollformat. Und das mit einem ausgezeichneten Bildstabilisator.Das Canon 1200 mm z.B. hat f/8 - und kostet ca. 24000€. Das Nikon 4/600 kostet 17000€Hier haben die 200mm Mehrbrennweite im Vergleich zu den 100-400 von Pana und Oly schon ihr Gewicht. Das ist viel Objektiv mit ein bisschen Kamera. Eine höhere Lichtstärke würde jedoch den Preis und das Gewicht mehr als nur verdoppeln.Und schließlich :Dieses Objektiv wurde perfekt adaptiert. Der Autofokus ist schnell und genau und das Objektiv verträgt sich gut mit den Konvertern MC 1,4 und 2,0 von Olympus. Da es eigentlich ein APSC -Objektiv ist, hat es bei Offenblende kaum Randfehler und die Schärfe ist überzeugend. Siehe oben - die Bilder sprechen für sich - und es gibt z.B. auf Flickr genügend weiter Beispiele. Von Leuten die das Objektiv wirklich benutzt haben. M.E. für Tier - und Naturfotografen ein Muss. Stativ allerdings auch Muss - mindestens Einbein. Man braucht kräftige Handgelenke. Aber trotz allem, ich fand, es hat sich gelohnt.

Ja, ich habe bei dem Preis auch lange gezaudert. Überzeugt bin ich von den Möglichkeiten dieser Brennweite in Verbindung mit der OM-1 Mark 2. Ein abblenden von 6.3 auf 8 bringt noch einiges an Potenzial, zumal der Sensor der OM-1 deutlich weniger rauscht, als meine „alte“ EM-1 Mark 2. Ich habe bei vielen Rezensionen den Eindruck, dass pauschal das MFT-System niedergemacht wird. Natürlich habe ich bei einer Brennweite von 1200mm im KB-Äquivalent mit vielen Dingen zu kämpfen, die man bei 300/400mm im KB-Format nicht unbedingt hat und erst jenseits der 400mm anfangen. Also bei aller Kritik mal die tolle Bildstabilisierung mit der OM-1 testen und ehrlich die höheren ISO Zahlen, die möglich sind, richtig „einsortieren. Bei der Kombi A7 III mit 200-600mm habe ich ein deutlich größeres Fitness-Training hingelegt und auch nicht diese AF-Treffsicherheit erzielt. Ich kann nicht sagen, dass dieses Objektiv für dich das einzig Wahre ist - muss halt jeder selber testen und ehrlich vergleichen. Für mich passt es!

Ich konnte das 150-600 auf einer OM1-II ausprobieren und bin von der Kombination (vor allem zu dem Preis) nicht wirklich angetan.Ja - gefühlt sind der Stabilisator und der AF ETWAS besser als mit meiner OM-1 und 100-400er Kombi, aber die Schärfe war bei meiner Testkombi nicht das, was ich erwartet hätte.Wenn man den fast 100% Preisaufschlag zum Originalobjektiv am E-Mount noch mit einbezieht, dann ist die Entscheidung, dieses Objektiv nicht zu kaufen, eigentlich glasklar. Zumal die Verbesserungen im Vergleich zum 100-400 inkl. 1.4er Konverter den massiven Preisaufschlag keinesfalls rechtfertigen. Da kann OM-Systems noch so viele Influencer bezahlen, die das Objektiv in den Himmel loben. Der Preis ist einfach nicht gerechtfertigt für das was man bekommt - vor allem, wenn man schon ein Tele-Objektiv besitzt.Danke, aber nein danke!
